Text from the CD

Terrington may well take its name from the Anglo-Saxon tiefrung, or picture, and that's the inspiration for the name of the local band, Tiefrung Gleemen, who contribute a couple of lively traditional tunes to this collection.

Most of the readings here are by members of the Terrington Players, who have been performing plays in the village for ten years under the direction of David Goodwin. Included here are several pieces by local poet John Nursey and one each from Terrington residents Anita Barber and Marcia Wigham.

The collection includes two songs from Terrington Village Choir, which was founded in 1997 and holds regular concerts in the village under the direction of Kerr Wilson. There's more music from both of the schools in the village. Terrington Hall School is a co-educational day and boarding school for 200 pupils aged from 3 to 13, while Terrington CE Primary School currently has forty pupils aged from 4 to 11. Choirs from both schools have contributed music, while there are also sounds and memories from both schools.

Finally, there's a chance to hear the ambient sounds of the village, recorded early in 2007.
